Press Release - After Hours Premiums: Radiology (July 2025)

The Office of the Auditor General’s report on after-hours premiums paid to radiologists finds that radiologists were being paid after-hours premiums without meeting all the criteria outlined in the applicable agreements.

Charlottetown, PEI, July 16, 2025 – While policies are in place at Health PEI, a new report released today by the Office of the Auditor General of Prince Edward Island has identified that premiums paid to radiologists were not paid in accordance with applicable agreements, and not all Health PEI employees responsible for approving the after-hours premiums were aware of the policies.
